While we are not out of the woods yet, the latest COVID-19 report issued by the Manitowoc County Health Department shows there is hope on the horizon.
There were 44 new cases confirmed, and there were also 73 new recoveries, which leaves the County with less than 1,700 active cases for the first time since November 2nd. A total of 5,374 cases have been confirmed, with 1,682 of them remaining active, and 3,654 people have recovered.
In more positive news, no new deaths were reported for the 5th day in a row, leaving the death toll at 38. Also, 9 fewer people are in the 10 hospitals in the Northeast Region, dropping that number to 111.
However, the percentage of ICU beds in use did go up by one percentage point to 83%. That number has floated around that spot since the first report included the stat on November 10th. The average percentage over those 31 days is 82.9%.
Meanwhile, 3 more deaths were reported in Sheboygan County, raising their death toll to 75. The report issued yesterday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health says that one of the deceased was between 70 and 79-years-old, and the other two were over 80 years old.
Also, 76 new cases were reported, along with 173 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 9,943 cases, 1,711 of which remain active, and 8,157 people have recovered.
