The Christmas season is a time of hope and happiness, and that feeling has transferred over to the world of COVID-19.
In yesterday’s report from the Manitowoc County Health Department, a whopping 117 people were listed as recovered. This is the 3rd highest single-day number the county has seen.
That coupled with 22 new cases, the lowest single-day number since October 7th, brings the pandemic totals up to 5,798 cases, 1,289 of which remain active, and 4,459 recoveries.
There is a bit of bad news, however, as the number of people hospitalized for COVID in the 10 hospitals in the Northeast Region rose by 4 to 105, while the percentage of ICU beds ion use jumped by 1 percentage point to 74%.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported another death linked to COVID in their Saturday through Sunday report, bringing the death toll up to 84. This individual was over the age of 80.
Also in the report were 211 new cases and 273 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 10,894 cases, 1,295 of which remain active, and 9,515 recoveries
