Delphine M. Jones, age 82 of Mishicot, entered eternal life on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, due to complications of Covid-19.
Delphine was born in Two Rivers on May 30, 1938 to Harry and Ione (Zimmer) Thielbar and was a graduate of Mishicot High School. On March 2, 1957, she married Robert E. Jones in Manitowoc. The couple was blessed with 58 years of marriage before Bob preceded her in death on February 24, 2016. Over the years Delphine worked at Mirro Aluminum, Hamilton Industries, Atkin & Reid, and Fox Hills Resort. She was a longtime faithful member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mishicot; the Mishicot Lions Club; and former member of the Mishicot Senior Center. Delphine loved playing cards, spending time with family, and enjoyed the many trips she was able to take with her husband Bob to Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland, Spain, Japan, and numerous states throughout the U.S. Especially important to Delphine, was celebrating there 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Fox Hills Resort. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her daughters: Debra Jones of Manitowoc, Diane Jones of Sheboygan; one son & daughter-in-law, Ricky and Karen Jones of Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Shawn (Erin) Jones, April (Lucas) Christiansen, Michael (Brenda) Anderson, and Stefanie (Jayce) Delray; eight great-grandchildren: Jasper, Grant, Ian, Kayce, Noah, Aiden, Gracie, and Kane; and three sisters: Jeanette (Louis) Kakuk of Manitowoc, Donna Durben of Two Rivers, and Darlene (Curt) Burch of Athelstane. She is further survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Nancy Thielbar of Seymour, Nancy Pietroske of Two Rivers, Marion (Brian) Denil of Denmark, Deidra Anderson of North Carolina, Everette (Brenda) Graves of Florida; Emogene Bancroft, Gaenol (Allen) Mobus, and Maurice (Sharon) Graves, all of Vermont; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ione Thielbar; her husband, Robert; three brothers: Robert, Donald, and Delmar Thielbar; one sister-in-law, Nelda Pidgeon; and two brothers-in-law: Elwin Jones and Wayne Bancroft.
A private family service will be held for Delphine at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. Rev. Joel Stuebs will preside at the service, with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
