6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman is applauding the decision made by Congressional leadership and the Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) to allow members of the National Guard in Washington, DC to tour the inside of the Capitol building.
Last Thursday, Grothman sent a letter to Congressional leaders urging them to allow the National Guardsmen and women who came to Washington, DC to secure the inauguration ceremony a tour of the Capitol building.
Nation Guardsmen and women are now able to take private tours of the Capitol led by CVC tour guides every day from 9:00 to 3:00 PM until Friday, January 29, 2021.
Grothman said that he received a lot of negative feedback from the soldiers over the past couple of weeks about their time defending the capitol, and that “They have made tremendous sacrifices and have spent so much time away from their families and jobs, that the least we can do is offer them a tour of the inside of the building they are protecting.”
