Except for a small spike mid-last week, February has been a very promising month as far as COVID-19 in Manitowoc County is concerned, and yesterday was no different.
Only 10 new cases were added, while 55 more people were listed as recovered. This brings the pandemic totals up to 7,076 confirmed cases, and 6,403 recoveries, with 612 cases remaining active.
The death toll remained stagnant at 61 as well, marking the fifth day at that number. The number of hospitalizations in the Northeast Region did rise slightly to 53, a jump of three patients.
In Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health update issued yesterday shows much of the same promise as the one issued by the Manitowoc County Health Department.
Only 37 cases were reported between Saturday and Monday, while 103 more people were listed as recovered. This brings their pandemic totals up to 12,565 confirmed cases and 12,184 recoveries, while 256 cases remain active.
In some not so good news, two more people did die from the coronavirus over the weekend. Both of these individuals were over the age of 80 and bring the death toll in Sheboygan County up to 125.
