The COVID-19 numbers reported yesterday (February 18th)by the Health Department were rather low, but they did continue to show promise that the end of the pandemic is on the horizon.
Only 9 new cases and 17 recoveries were confirmed by the Health Department, which leaves the pandemic totals at 7,178 confirmed cases, and 6,694 recoveries, while 423 cases remain active.
Based on the numbers reported last month, the number of daily recoveries is expected to begin to decline, as cases are only listed as recovered 30 days after the individual tests positive.
In some good news, the death toll remained stagnant at 61 for the 15th straight day, and the number of people hospitalized for COVID fell by one to 31.
In Sheboygan County, they did report one more death. This individual was reportedly over the age of 80 and brings the death toll up to 126.
Meanwhile, 18 more cases were confirmed, and 23 people added to the recovered list. This leaves their pandemic totals at 12,738 cases confirmed, 12,439 recoveries, and 173 cases remaining active.
