Wisconsin’s most decorated NASCAR driver ends his career with an eighth place finish at Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400 near Miami. Matt Kenseth of Cambridge closes out his 18th season in seventh place in the year’s point standings for the Monster Energy Series. The 45-year-old Kenseth was let go by Joe Gibbs Racing, and he did not hook up with another team in the final weeks of the season. He ends his career with one Cup championship in 2003 — two Daytona 500 victories, and 39 overall wins. Martin Truex, Junior won the race and the season title — Paul Menard of Eau Claire finished 23rd for the year following a 16th place finish Sunday — and Beloit born Danica Patrick had an accident just after the halfway point of the race, and she finished 37th for the day and 28th in her final full NASCAR campaign.
