The Center for First-generation Student Success recently announced the 2021-22 First-gen Forward cohort, which included the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
UW-Green Bay is the first UW System institution to be recognized as a First-Gen Forward institution.
The First-gen Forward designation recognizes institutions of higher education that have demonstrated a commitment to improving experiences and advancing outcomes of first-generation college students.
Selected institutions receive professional development, community-building experiences, and a first look at the Center’s research and resources.
At UW-Green Bay, 34.2% (2,356) undergraduate students and 11.2% (51) graduate students are recognized as first-generation students—the first in their families to pursue a college degree.
