Even though the number of new cases of COVID-19 remains low, that doesn’t mitigate the danger of the virus.
One more person has died in Manitowoc County due to the coronavirus, bringing that total up to 64. It should also be noted that the number of people hospitalized in the Northeast Region of Hospitals has steadily risen all month, up 8 patients to 40.
That being said, there were only 4 new cases of the virus confirmed yesterday, leaving that total at 7,250.
On the vaccination front, there were 697 more shots administered yesterday, and only 169 of them were first doses. This means that 528 more County residents have finished their vaccination regimen, raising that total up to 7,024, or 8.8% of citizens in the county.
13,695 people have only received their first dose, or roughly 17.3% of citizens. That percentage is actually a bit higher than the State’s, which shows that 16.9% of Wisconsinites have gotten at least one dose.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported 17 new cases yesterday, along with 11 new recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 12,947 cases, 12,677 recoveries, and leaves 139 active cases.
There were no new deaths reported, leaving their death toll at 131.
