While no change is good for some of the numbers, that is not the case for the entire COVID-19 update from the Manitowoc County Health Department.
In their report from yesterday (March 8th), there were no new cases confirmed and no new deaths, leaving those numbers at 7,260 confirmed cases, and 64 deaths. The seven day rolling average is currently at 3 cases, which is roughly 0.43 cases per day.
However five more people are seeking treatment in area hospitals, raising that number to 35.
On the vaccination front, there also wasn’t any major change.
Only 71 new vaccines were administered, with 15 being new patients. Since that statistic began being tracked by the County Health Department, that is the lowest number of vaccines administered on a single day since February 22nd, when only 20 were administered.
On average, 354 vaccines have been administered a day throughout the County over the past 17 days, which is when the Health Department first began reporting the statistic.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported another death linked to COVID. This individual was reportedly over the age of 80, and raises the death toll up to 132.
They also reported 30 new cases between Saturday and Monday, along with 36 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 12,987 confirmed cases, and 12,723 recoveries, while 132 cases remain active.
