After two days where a mini-spike of COVID-19 cases were reported, the Manitowoc County Health Department update from yesterday (March 11th) shows the number of new cases was right around the average for the month.
4 new cases were reported, bringing the pandemic total up to 7,281. In the first 11 days of March, an average of 3.8 new cases were reported every day.
There were no new deaths yesterday, leaving that total at 66, while the number of people hospitalized in the area for COVID rose by three to 39.
On the vaccination front, the County reported the second-highest single-day vaccination rate since they started reporting the statistics. 1,070 shots were administered, with 475 of those being new patients.
The only day where more shots were administered was on March 5th, when 1,247 shots went into arms.
These latest shots bring the total number of vaccines administered in the County up to 25,793, with 16,230 people at least getting one shot. 20.5% of the county has now received at least one shot, which is slightly better than the state average of 19.7%.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported 18 new cases yesterday.
This coupled with 12 new recoveries, means that their pandemic totals now sit at 13,024 confirmed cases, and 12,752 people have recovered.
No new deaths were reported, leaving that total at 133, meaning 139 cases remain active in Sheboygan County.
