The judge presiding over the high-profile Minneapolis trial for George Floyd’s accused killer is from Wisconsin.
Hennepin County Circuit Court Judge Peter Cahill is a 1977 graduate of Oconomowoc High School and earned a law degree from the University of Minnesota.
Cahill is on the bench for the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
He has served in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District since 2007.
A jury is currently being seated for Chauvin’s trial.
