It was a busy weekend for COVID-19 vaccine providers in Manitowoc County, as between Saturday (March 20th) and Monday, a total of 1,802 more vaccines were administered.
Of those vaccines, 1,519 went into the arms of first-time patients or roughly 500 new patients per day. This brings the total number of vaccines administered up to 33,153, with 21,027 of those receiving at least one dose of any vaccine.
Manitowoc County continues to outpace the State’s vaccination rate, with 26.6% of County residents receiving a shot, compared to 25.3% of Wisconsinites.
In more good news, only 3 new cases were reported in that three-day stretch, while 3 fewer people were reported to be receiving treatment in area hospitals. Those numbers now sit at 7,314 confirmed cases, with 21 patients occupying ICU beds.
The death toll remained stagnant at 67 for the fourth straight day as well.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, 30 new cases were reported over the weekend, bringing the pandemic total up to 13,172. That coupled with 45 recoveries and no new deaths, leaves the active case count at 157, a decline of 15 from Friday.
The death toll still sits at 133.
