For the first time since the start of the pandemic, with the exception of holidays, not a single COVID-19 test was administered yesterday (March 23rd) in Manitowoc County.
According to the Update from the Manitowoc County Health Department, no new cases were confirmed, and no tests came back negative. Those numbers now sit at 7,314 confirmed cases, and 30,286 tests have come back negative.
The death toll remained stagnant at 67 for the 5th straight day, however, 8 more people were admitted to area hospitals for COVID.
On the vaccination front, over 384 of the first dose vaccines went into the arms of community members. In total, 33,372 shots have been administered, with 21,135 patients at least receiving one dose, or roughly 26.8% of County residents.
Compare that to the state’s vaccination stats, where 25.7% of Wisconsinites have gotten at least one shot of any of the three COVID vaccinations.
In Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported that one of the cases previously reported was actually from a different county.
They didn’t have any other positive cases, and reported 13 recoveries. This means that the pandemic totals now sit at 13,171 confirmed cases, 12,895 recoveries, and 143 cases remain active.
Their death toll also remained stagnant at 133.
