Former Wisconsin defensive back Troy Vincent is this year’s winner of the Big Ten Ford/Kinnick Leadership Award. Former Iowa linebacker Chad Greenway was given the Dungy/Thompson Humanitarian award, as both were honored for their service and accomplishments after leaving their respective Big Ten schools. Vincent played with the Badgers from 1988 through ’91, and was named the league’s defensive player of the year as a senior. He played 15 seasons in the N-F-L, headed the players’ union from 2004 through ’08, and is now the league’s vice president of football operations. Vincent was a national advocate for victims of sex abuse and domestic violence — and he started Love Thy Neighbor, a group that supports positive change in young people’s lives.
