Wisconsin Badgers junior defenseman Ty Emberson has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes.
He will report to the Tucson Roadrunners in the American Hockey League.
Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong describes Emberson as a good two-way defenseman who “can play in all situations.”
He scored four goals and had nine assists in 31 games as a junior, and served as team captain for coach Tony Granato.
He was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team, was an Academic All-Big Ten, and an honorable mention All-Big Ten player.
He also represented the U-S at the Under-20 I-I-H-F World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic last season.
