Donald P. Endries, age 88, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, April 7, 2021 at Shady Lane Nursing Center.
Donald was born on June 14, 1932 in Manitowoc, son of the late Sylvester and Elaine (Behrendt) Endries. He graduated with the 1950 class of Lincoln High School. Following high school Donald served as a Sargent in the United States Army in Korea from 1951-1953. On May 11, 1957 Donald was married to Charlotte R. Wells at First German Ev. Lutheran Church. He was a forty-one year employee of the Invincible Company, retiring in 1995. Donald was a former member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church and a current member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. In the past he enjoyed golfing, his yard, and was an avid sportsmen, loving to coach athletics for boys and girls.
Survivors include: his wife: Charlotte Endries, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Vicki (Randy) Brull, Greenville; Susan (Richard) Sonnenburg, Pewaukee; Steven (Jennifer) Endries, Green Bay; three grandchildren: Kylie (Paul) Hamann, Tim Brull, Shelby Sonnenburg; one sister: LaVerne Hecker, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Wayne (Kay) Endries, FL; one sister-in-law: Judith O’Leary, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Sylvester and Elaine Endries; one sister and three brothers-in-law: Dolores (Florian) Skowronek, Lloyd Hecker, Thomas O’Leary; father-in-law and mother-in-law: William and Leona Wells.
Funeral services will be held on 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Revs. Robert Kujawaski and Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at Evergreen Cemetery by the AMVETS Post #99. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Social distancing and face coverings are required.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Don’s name for Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church.
