Neenah police say an officer was called Saturday night about a trespassing complaint in the downtown area.
The officer was told about a person who was “passed out in the grass” a block away.
When he checked, he found a man with blood on his clothes and injuries to his upper chest.
A police report says the victim was already dead.
A closer examination revealed he had been stabbed to death and a homicide investigation was started.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
Police haven’t said if they are looking for a specific person of interest in the case.
